Artist Statement

OIL PAINTINGS:

 

I have a passion for oil painting.  I like to take simple still life compositions and reinvent them on canvas through the use of colors and textures.   I like to paint my compositions with deep shadows and a spotlight light source to allow the subject matter to have a depth.

 

 

INTERPRETIVE ABSTRACT ARTWORK:

 

Light and Dark

 

Opposing forces that come together to create a balance that is necessary for the existence of the other. One cannot thrive without the notion that the other is somewhere ready to interceed.

 

(LOOKING IN) The eye is the window to the soul. It can tell you things that words can't express.

 

(LOOKING OUT) The eye can be the cause of validation or deception.
